Loop through your gear/rack – Take the theft deterrent by the end with the loop, place this through your bikes wheel or frame or loop round the upper arm of your Piste/Tidal rack. Now take your ball stop and feed through the loop. Pull until the cable is firmly looped around your gear.

With the deterrent looped through your gear and the ball stop in the boot, you can now close the boot. This will secure the cable as the ball stop will not be able to removed and the loop around your gear will not be able to be removed either until the boot is opened again.
